Meet Our Interns!

Hey there, I’m Katie from sunny San Diego, CA. I am a recent college grad from CSU San Marcos. I majored in Communication and love all things media! I am a gold over silver, pencil over pen, and Coke over Pepsi type of girl. Breakfast for dinner is the best meal ever! Currently addicted to SVU, Greys Anatomy, Scandal, and Gilmore Girls. I drink waaaay to much coffee and not enough water! I am a self-identified workaholic with a passion for empowering women and young girls. There has always been an enormous amount of pressure for women and young girls to be a certain way in society and this pressure has been dramatically heighted with the use of social media. Communities, like Be Bona Fide, are essential in creating spaces for women and young girls to learn, grow and be inspired by one another. Be Bona Fide is a reminder that there is more to life that just your online presence and that you are not defined by the filters, captions, and likes on your photos. Being Bona Fide is scary, you’re putting yourself out there and allowing the world to see the unedited version of you, but if your courage to remove the filter and to be genuine helps someone else– isn’t it all worth it? I think so, and that’s why I am excited to be a part of this movement with all you Bona Fide babes!

Hi guys!  I'm Stefanie. I'm a creative at heart and I'm a mama to a 4 pound, white, fluff of a dog named Bianca (thanks Craigslist!) I usually drink my water with five lemons (at least) and I can't run a mile without stopping every two minutes..oops, working on that. I'm engaged to my best friend and I recently graduated with my associates degree to pursue my dream of being a full time portrait and wedding photographer. It's scary but I love it. When I'm not behind my camera you can find me on Pinterest soaking up inspiration or just living life enjoying the simple and, often unnoticed, little joys.  I believe whole heartily in living a Bonafide lifestyle. I think that life is too short to worry about followers, likes, and filters (although I have to remind my self of this daily.) I'm on a mission to focus more on genuine living and I want to encourage people to do the same. To me, being BonaFide means being raw and open and accepting of flaws. Less perfect, and more purpose. That's how I see it. I'm so thankful for the opportunity to intern with a company so near to my heart. Now let's change the world together! Who's with me?

Hey friends! I’m Madi and I am so happy to meet you.  I just graduated from high school in Orange County, CA and will be moving to Chicago for college in the fall.  I’m a part time nanny and full time coffee addict.  My favorite things include babies, shoes, reading, b&w stripes, starbucks, statement jewelry, and GREYS ANATOMY.  An aspiring pediatrician, yet total psychology nerd- want to talk about a psychological disorder?  Let’s do it, I’ve probably read a book on it. My passion is understanding and connecting with others.  I strive to live joyfully, graciously, and courageously in all areas of life.  It’s especially important to me to use social media as a tool to lift others up.  We as a community have yet to adapt to the newly media-saturated world and there is still a great deal to learn on how to appear passionate, thoughtful, and genuine on these platforms while still creating beautiful and unique content.  And that’s where Be Bona Fide comes in!  I want other people to understand that they’re not alone in their brokenness.  Everyone has struggles, insecurities, and failures.   I am so excited to grow, explore, reflect, and discover together with you.  Let’s be vulnerable together!

Hello! I'm Makenzie, just recently moved home to Las Vegas from Cedar City, Utah where I went to college studying graphic design & marketing. I have 2 guinea pigs, 2 dogs, and 5 younger siblings. I am currently sleeping in a room covered in Pokémon and Minecraft posters, which my 10-yr old self and her Gameboy Color are stoked about. I am an outgoing introvert, Cancer, aspiring Taylor Swift groupie, certified hot mess. "If I'm going to be a mess, I might as well be a hot mess." - Mindy Kaling. Even though laughing is something I do a lot (something my brother lovingly describes as a "horse laugh"), I don't always feel very happy or in control. And it's hard to go on social media when everyone else seems to be doing much better than me. This is not the case! Everyone has problems. Being Bona Fide means not being afraid to open up to each other about our lives, especially when there's someone out there who thinks they are the only one struggling. I am here as proof you are not alone in your depression, anxiety, anything. My pictures I post don't show half of what my life is really like. I am on a mission to change that, and hopefully inspire others to do the same.
